SILVIA AZZONI.

Silvia Azzoni was born in Turin, Italy, where she began her ballet training before continuing her studies at the Hamburg Ballet School under the direction of John Neumeier. She joined Hamburg Ballet in 1993 and was later promoted to Principal dancer, becoming one of the most important and long-standing artistic collaborators of Neumeier.

Over the course of her career, she has performed leading roles in a wide range of productions, including Giselle, Romeo and Juliet, Nijinsky, The Little Mermaid, A Cinderella Story and Lady of the Camellias. Many roles were created specifically for her, reflecting a close artistic dialogue with Neumeier that has played a central role in shaping some of the company’s most significant works.
