KAYOKO EVERHART.

Kayoko Everhart was born in Tokyo, Japan, and moved to the United States at the age of seven, where she began her formal dance training. She studied at Washington Contemporary Ballet and later trained at San Francisco Ballet School on full scholarship, also performing with San Francisco Ballet while completing her studies. Before moving to Spain, she began her professional career with Tulsa Ballet, where she first encountered the choreographic language of Nacho Duato.

She joined Compañía Nacional de Danza II in 2004 and later became a member of the main company, where she was promoted to Principal dancer in 2012 and named Primera Figura in 2020. Over the years, she has built an exceptionally broad repertoire across classical, neoclassical and contemporary dance, performing works by Nacho Duato, William Forsythe, Jiří Kylián, Johan Inger, Ohad Naharin, Twyla Tharp, Roland Petit, Jerome Robbins, Alexei Ratmansky and many others. Her major roles include Carmen in Johan Inger’s Carmen, Juliet in Goyo Montero’s Romeo and Juliet, Giselle and Myrta in Joaquín De Luz’s Giselle, and Mercedes in José Carlos Martínez’s Don Quijote.

Her dancing is recognised for its combination of technical clarity, musical sensitivity and expressive force, qualities that have made her one of the defining artists of the company. Alongside her stage career, she has appeared as a guest artist in international galas and has also worked extensively across fashion, photography and commercial media, collaborating with brands including Shiseido, Mercedes-Benz, Sephora and Desigual. This broader creative presence reflects an artist whose work moves naturally between performance and image.
