KAYLA MAY CORBIN.
Kayla May Corbin was born in Canada and trained at Arts Umbrella in Vancouver, where she developed a foundation in contemporary dance and tap. In 2009, she won gold at the World Tap Dance Championships before beginning her professional career in Europe.
From 2012 to 2015, she worked with imPerfect Dancers Company in Pisa, Italy. In 2015, she joined Tanz Linz at Landestheater Linz, where she worked as a soloist until 2025. During this time, she performed across a broad contemporary and theatrical repertoire, collaborating with numerous choreographers, directors and creative teams. In 2019, she received the Tanzpreis in recognition of her artistic work.
Alongside her work on stage, she developed an extensive practice as a choreographer and educator. Her work spans contemporary dance, lyrical, jazz, ballet and tap, including stage productions, independent projects, competition works and interdisciplinary collaborations.
She recently completed a Master’s degree in Arts & Culture Management, expanding her work towards artistic coordination, production and company management. Her interests lie in the relationship between artistic practice, cultural leadership and the sustainable structures that support artists and creative work.
